How is my chanceless intent to feel the insecurity that Loai feels every day waiting for his asylum? Loai is a refugee from Palestine and lives at our place since january 2025.

Tomorrow is the day! The portrait I made from Loai on the last two stones of his house, will become property of the commune of St-Pieters Woluwe! What a milestone.

Now I’m afraid they will dump it.

I just called the commune. They will not keep their promise. The one month rule ("the artwork becomes property of the commune after one month if not picked up") was only there to pressure the artists. I’m starting to feel treated like a refugee. Of course, it’s still incomparable.

The concept of the artwork starts to work: it's trajectory will not be in my hands. The commune will deport the artwork to the border of the commune. I could not have made this up myself.
