Takemehome (spray paint on gastower, 2024)
Instead of ‘Telephone’, I wrote ‘Takemehome’ on this 8 meter high tower in Lubbeek. I painted an English traditional telephone booth in bright red to hide a message of intolerance.
In the booth, an old lady calls on her cellphone. A bird flies above her head. I guess I’m the bird that looks for freedom. It is present troughout my work. The sunlight shines trough the booth.
Just a few weeks later, my father decided to bring his dying wife home from the nursing home to be able to peacefully die at home.
Real murals evoke magic.
