Don't Tell (acrylic and cameras on wall, 2024)
For the Vejle Street Art Festival I designed an artwork that starts from the idea of unsafety, playing outside and surveillance cameras. The wall was equiped with no less than four of them. It also tells the story of the scared kid inside of us that sometimes holds us down and we don’t speak about it. The shapes and colors were taken from the church in the back and copper rooftops in front.
On the job, a local tagger confronted me with his anger that the festival leaves no space for the locals to express themselves. I totally agreede with him. No time or payment is given to artists to collaborate with locals. When talking with him about the concept, he immediately identified with the artwork.
